The Multicultural Philosophy Of "Freaky Friday"
Number of pages:

ABSTRACT:
3 pages in length. The grander implication of the otherwise comical production of Freaky Friday incorporates a strong philosophical underpinning that addresses the global ill of multicultural intolerance. Like two feuding nations, mother Tess and daughter Anna cannot understand why the other has such objectionable values, unacceptable social networks and insufferable taste in just about everything. Living in their own myopic worlds prevents them from truly seeing and accepting each other as the individuals they are; as such, it takes divine intervention of a fortune cookie for them to experience first-hand -– and ultimately come to appreciate –- what comprises the other's worldview and why it is okay for each to embrace rather than reject their many differences. Bibliography lists 2 sources.
